It's a pretty neat game. Multiplayer is fast paced, I'd say more fast paced than Descent. Ships feel smaller but more agile. Weapon and class system is a LOT of fun to play around with in multi. Mobix0r's post on Cadenza's site seemed to indicate that the release would be around 1 PM Eastern time (about 20 minutes from now). Whether that translates to being available on Steam is another question though.

Perhaps you can setup keybinds to cycle through enemy targets? I think having to avoid pausing the game to select an enemy would be beneficial.

There's only the one on that mission where you use the remote bots for the first time. All the others are merely decoration.

The biggest issue I found with the loot pickup is that it took you about 10-20 seconds to clean up the spawn. In Descent, that process can be a second or less. I haven't crashed in a long while. I also haven't used Vortex to launch a game in a long while either, I've been using a straight command line.

Release date is 1/31/13. Unfortunately the current beta is unplayable for me (crashes after 10 minutes), but they say they will have that bug squished. It's promising, I tossed some money at it. Will be interesting to see if it gets a multiplayer following.

Not using D3's config file, no. You can only specify the starting level, it will still cycle through the levels though. There are some options. - Use a dedicated server tool that only cycles through the levels you want. Now, I don't know if any of the active server tools allow for this, and I haven'...

Core and Taurus are part of Fury, levels 1 and 5 respectively. I do not know if an official Outrage Polaris level exists for retail.

Core Classic and Polaris Classic were released as single levels by Suncho and Skyalmian respectively.

You can turn off ship noises in the interface. I forget where, but I believe it's available from the F2 menu in game. Mine buzzed pretty badly too when I installed it on this computer, shut them off immediately.

Got taunts working. Turns out I was using too many characters for the taunts, cutting them down to size fixed it. The ship picture was always working, I just didn't have the taunts to know it. Ugh, I ran into that one a couple of times when my system froze for a few seconds, and then the game thinks you slammed into the wall at a million miles per hour. Stupid Windows. I reported that as a bug on their website.

I've been playing the beta, beats the snuff out of MinerWars for me from a game play perspective. However, I can't get it to run for more than 10 minutes at a time without crashing. :x Hopefully this gets fixed, I really want to see how the game plays beyond the first couple scenes.

I remember Bama very well. I actually modified a few of his favorite D3 maps to insert his favorite weapon, the Earthshaker. Bama's Revenge, Zonerie, you remember that?

Bleh. The sound's started up again. It seems to be only on things like fusion and the afterburner. Taunts play normally, as do most other sounds.

Anyone know what could be the cause of sound problems in D3 where the sounds skip? For instance, when you hold down afterburner, the sound is dragged out.
