I've actually gotta defend Spidey a bit here. At least he's being honest (I assume he's not pulling an Andy Kaufman and flamebaiting everyone). My guess - only a guess, but one drawn from experience - is that for every person that says what Spidey does, there are another 10 who feel the same way but...

WoW eats my brain

Anyone else in the World of Warcraft stress test this weekend? I've never MMORPG'ed before, and I probably won't after this test is over... this is way too addictive.

When your character learning how to make campfires is cause to get excited, you know something's seriously f***ed.

If you happen to have a console, I'd recommend Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II. It's basically a Diablo II clone with very good graphics and a better single player game - highly recommend it... maybe they even have it for PC, although I haven't heard that. I also hear DA's sequel is much better than ...

Well, I can do you 25 years better... America participated in WWI as well. And there's also the general idea of leading by example to consider, but I agree with you that the blanket statement of "100 years of leadership" seems vague.

The quotes you give establish MY CASE exactly -- there isn't a great deal of urgency (you're pushing that onto his quotes), but there's also no good reason to wait. There isn't an urgent, immediate threat -- but there's a mounting threat, and there's no reason to waste our time waiting for it to become urgent. Saddam was aggressive; Saddam hates us; Saddam doesn't hesitate to use chemical and biological weapons. Therefore, we shouldn't just sit and wait for hi...

I don't think the U.N. was for inaction. I don't think anyone was. If there was proof of WMD that Iraq wouldn't relinquish, nobody would have gotten in the US's way, and a quick coalition would have been formed to invade. From what I recall, the big ruckus at the time was whether or not we should wa...

Interesting how belabored the fuss was over a couple of blow jobs in the Oval Office (and the lie about it), and yet we're not supposed to complain about controversial WMD evidence so we can "just get on with it". This, in the context of a historical event upon which thousands of lives lie...
