I use PSP 7 for textures, Photoshop is better for most applications, but the tools needed for textures are easier to find in PSP 7.
That and it's quite a bit cheaper :P

Very cool :) I've been into the whole astronomy thing for a while, more into the sun though. The distances are Mind bogglingly enormous. :D I have a .gif of the X-17 class solar flare we had a few years ago. I'll post it if I can find it :)
