Still doesn't hurt having a cool clan name. I'll look into something like The [Acronym]Clan

Yeah. I know. I can't come up with a cool name to save my life. Although I want the clan name to fit my avatar... we're using the radioactive orb logo on our D3 ships.

I just tried D3 on my friend's laptop over here. He's sitting next to me, using my network. However, I'm not sure about that router firewall. How can I check it out?

Ok, I opened port 2092 and allowed main.exe through the firewall and still nothing fixed. What really bugs me, though, is Descent 3 plays fine online on my friends Vista laptop.

Looking for a cool clan name

Hey, all. I'm getting a Descent 3 clan up and running with all of my buddies, and we need a cool name. I'm not good at coming up with cool names myself, but I thought up a few:

Lusankya
Xanthos
Terran Descentia
GeForce

Feel free to provide input!

Would greatly appreciate it!

Any way to use D3 online short of requiring the \"run as administrator\" trick?

If you got the Pyro, it would look good from top view, with the nose pointing either up or down. Or maybe a front view.

I don't want to jack anything up there, but I know that won't fix it. It does it on every single computer I try, but it doesn't do this with any other game on the planet.

I did try turning off the firewall and that didn't work, so I'll try the administrative privileges trick.

I can't find any info on recommended ports in the readme. Is the Server-Specific port basically what my example above showed?

Yeah, I like the Saitek joysticks. They even have those nifty wrist rests. I think I'll sell my Ulead Video Studio 5 and get an ST290.

I like the Saitek ST290. I've used it a lot. Maybe you use force feedback, mmm?

I've tried that, sort of. Which ports would I open? The one specified by the server? I.e, 123.45.678.90:0000
I'd open 0000?

I tried that. I can't even play local netgames, It never finds a server. Come to think of it, I have the exact same problem with Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast; no connecting.

oh. oh I see. I liked mouselook because it was the only non-inverted mode of mouse control, until I found out about the invert button thingy. Although I still want a Saitek.

It times out. If I try to join a server at d3.descent.cx, it says \"Connecting\" for a few minutes and then it changes to \"No Response From Server\". I carry D3 on a flash drive, and I can't connect from any Vista PC I've tried it on. :x WinXP works nice, though.

Descent 3 and Windows Vista

As far as I care to dig, D3 works wonderfully on WinVista... except one huge problem: It won't connect to multiplayer games! :x I can't connect to any games on the internet or local network. I've allowed main.exe through every firewall and protection program I can find... still no luck. Is anyone ar...

Configuring D3 Mouse Control

Hey, all. I've discovered something about D3 that I really hate... if you press too many keys at once, the keyboard stops responding, so to work around this, I've started using mouse control. The problem is I can't play with inverted mouse, and most servers ban Mouselook. What I'm looking for is eit...
