I recommend RealVNC . It may not be as featureful as remote desktop or LogMeIn but it's not dependent on a single account like LogMeIn is. You install the server on the machine you want to remote to, and you connect to it using a client on the machine you are mobile with. The login information for p...

I know that the MErc add on should have patched you but maybe something goofed up. *shrug*

So how long before a signal blocking piece of gear will be blackmarketed? You'd be stupid to buy one. It's not really that hard to create your own faraday box with something like a cookie tin. I would hack it so all it could do is report miles traveled, but nothing about position, velocity, elevati...

A GPS receiver used to track movement? NO WAY! I don't want Big Brother tracking every single place I go, how long I am where, and as Krom said, a vehicle's computer is certainly capable of recording mileage. The mention of GPS speaks socialism/fascism to me; it's another subtle way the government c...

The GeForce GTS models are slower clocked versions of the GTX models. If you want to do leading edge on a budget, that is a good way to go. Don't get a card made by a cheap manufacturer, e.g. Zogis, Jaton, etc. Instead, get something quality but good like MSI, Biostar, Gigabyte, PNY, or go high qual...

I agree with Krom. Besides, about 95% of the time that approach has worked for me with usually better results than using the manager's utility. Dump the manufacturer's utility and let Windows handle it itself. x2. Windows's utility is often better than what comes with the driver, be it Intel, Dell,...

If you got the Mercenary expansion, install Mercenary before installing the v1.4 patch. Doing it in reverse causes problems. So, when doing a fresh install: Install D3 Install D3 Merc Install 1.4 patch If you just have D3 installed, skip that step, and then do merc and the 1.4 patch. If you don't ha...

Install the UBCD4Win builder on a working machine (not the broken one). Be sure to run it from the icon on the desktop, and not from the executable or batch file in the program's folder. Put in a retail or OEM (retail works better) XP CD (home or pro doesn't matter; I use pro), run the builder, and ...

OMGOSH DEER in back yard
Hey y'all. As of as I write this, a deer is in my back yard grazing on the grass and clover (no my lawn isn't perfect). Picture: http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss217/zantor64/0623091932b.jpg This is a first, especially in my area; it's a nice quiet suburb, and I've never seen wildlife larger tha...

For crying out loud, you don't need to overreact! Isn't civility an important thing, here? Yes, often Dells are useless, proprietary junk; I despise Dell as much as you do, especially because of their market share and how they shove their stuff down consumers' throats. I find that if there is any on...

Personally, Firefox man, I would do only dual head, and only have two screens up when doing Web stuff or word processing. I rarely leave my second screen on when gaming. If you want lots of space for anything, get one large widescreen monitor. I use two CRTs--yeah, call me obsolete; I'm getting LCDs...

I've had some hilarious moments playing on Megerva with friends on D1X Rebirth; it's a rendition of Minerva, but full of megas. There are something like 20 mega missiles in that entire level, and it makes for great fun. We'd do hit and run, chase each other around, and all around just laugh and fly ...

I remember the sound from the cloaked class 1 driller; it sound similar to the Sidearm modula from D2. That creeped me out in my early years of SP. The advanced lifter (4-armed red bot) from D1 was creepy, especially when playing on a version that had the bug where music wouldn't play past level 7. ...

It's the US government babying people again, even enemies to the state/traitors/terrorists. The right to remain silent makes sense; the person can choose not to blab anything. But civil or criminal court? Give me a freakin' BREAK! It should be military court-martial or tribunal! As for the lawyer pa...
