A Peerless Murder
The coronors inquest into princess Di's murder may become interesting to follow: The senior member of the Royal family who Princess Diana believed was plotting to kill her in a car crash has been named. It is hoped the inquests could eventually shed light on the flurry of conspiracy theories surroun...

I didn't even mind him filching freely from other fantasy series' to create atmosphere (for example, anyone read Sword of Truth? look at sleeping gandalf, the eyes open bit is, IIRC, not mentioned in LotR ever). I disagree. If memory serves, there was a passage where Gandalf sleeps and someone expla...

As I understand it, this security precaution will become the norm. All countries will adopt this method to control who comes and goes in their respective countrie. so pretty soon FC, you won't be able to travel to any country http://www.descentbb.net/ubb/wink.gif Oh and Birdy...just what freedom in ...

PXO Oddness
When I log in and get to the game screen, and then click on a game I get kicked back to the main Descent screen where you pick multiplayer or choose load game for single player. Is this somethiong to do with PXO? When I am in the PXO game screen I can see players are entering and leaving games.

Look what happened in the late 70s when OPEC became momentarily united in its opposition to the US. We got raped and a Democratic president subsequently was voted out of office because of it. We had temporarily lost control of our own destiny. That is the position our *friends* would like to see us ...

There-in lies the problem. The UN has no leader. Hoki-doki Koki is nothing more than a spokesman and does not have a mandate to make a decision. The giant committee that is the UN does not have a very good track record when it comes to getting a real problem solved. Yeah, they are good at sending fo...

Bush Pre-emptor
Well we have all seen how impetuous Bush is, what with charging in and offing the Taliban and kicking the Iraqi's ass. The Okie Koki led UN wrings their socialist hands and moans how if Bush would'ave waited a few more decades, why they were sure the Iraqi situation would be taken care of in a humai...

What Lothar said. I expected the return to The Shire would not be depicted (in the movie) as Samwise was not given the vial of special soil by the the Lady of the Woods as a parting gift upon leaving Loth Lorien. This soil helps restore The Shire upon the hobbits return. And Birdy, I too vote you sh...

Took amy daughter and went and partook of the visual splendor that is ROTK. The scenes from the upper portions of Gondor looking down onto the plains was simply inspired. In a sense it was spiritual in that there was a cathedral like effect presented by the lofty perspectives. Sky and weather combin...

I think Mobi got it mostly right. The human factor will probably make all the difference in a successful landing attempt. To take Mobi's plan a step further, I think pre-caching supplies and equipment will be a requirement. The Red/Blue/Green Mars book series laid this out fairly well at the start. ...

While I am one to gleefully send Saddam to his demise, there is a problem with that. The day he dies...he becomes a martyr. I think the Iraqi's should handle and mete out what justice they deem best for uncle Saddam. They should have a trial and expose to all those anti-war and socialist liberals th...

Listening to NPR's Daniel Schorrer(sp), he must think we are a nation of plaster's/autobody repairmen and tire fixers. His view point is that somehow we as americans should seek to "patch up" our relations with european nations (read France and Germany) so that they may come onboard into t...

Thanks Jeff, the way you put it makes christianity a bit more palatable. woodchip, what you made wasn't a theological point, it was a philosophical point from a broader theological context that you were trying to wedge into the context of this thread. (How's that for succinct?)Lothar Lothar, there i...

So, why do we still try to reach these people if they can be saved without hearing the message? Well, first of all, to increase their chances, and second of all, because God is interested in more than just saving people -- He is interested in creating mature disciples. Lothar This is the part of chr...

To beat a fat man
By now most of you have heard about the cops beating a 400 pound black man, where-upon he died. So just another police brutality case as the black community would lead you to believe? As NPR reported there was only a scuffle resulting in the police pulling their billies and putting the smack down on...
