Centrino?

What ever happened to Intel's Centrino branding? I haven't seen that in a while.

Mostly retired, all it really meant was the system used an Intel CPU, Chipset, and WiFi adapter. You probably don't see it as much these days because other companies (Broadcom, Qualcomm) sell WiFi adapters that are just as good but don't cost as much as the Intel ones.

Arguably the Broadcom/Qualcomm WiFi chipsts are superior to Intels offerings if for no other reason than the overwhelming majority of WiFi routers/access points/base stations/smart phones/tablets/etc (basically anything that isn't a Centrino laptop) use either a Broadcom or Qualcomm(==Atheros) WiFi chipset so they are going to have the maximum compatibility.
