Any cyclist here?

Just ordered a bike for city biking. Basically to go to work and back. If you bike, do you use the special pedal with the cleets? Is it really worth it?

This is what I ordered. Won't appear before spring if lucky.

I need to get back into it. Yeah, going clipless is worth it. I normally give this thought exercise: Imagine trying to turn a wheel with just one hand at a time.... Now imagine being allowed to use both hands at a time. It's easier to use both hands at once and it's the same for your legs when you're attached to your pedals.

I recommend getting spd pedals, because you won't have to change shoes at work. They're perfect for mountain bikes, but many roadies use them as well, simply because the benefits from the "normal road bike" clipless pedals are just designed to be as light as possible, which won't give you much advantage unless you're completely in aero gear and light as possible. SPDs will offer you the torque (if you suddenly need extreme acceleration) and/or the even power distribution to make your morning ride more efficient.

I use Look style clipless which just means I need to change shoes when I go to work. I haven't changed to SPDs.

Talk to your cycling shop. They'll know more than me.
