I recently started making maps for descent 1 with Devil, I like the program, but it's be alot easier with level design if I had Desedit any one know where I can get that? It appears its not on the inter net any more.

i got the demo of dmb2 to work on my 1 gig windows 3.1 so maybe this will
i wonder if there is a way to get descent two to run on xp? i cant get it to install

it looks like i need the d2 hog to get the d2x to work well... i dont think there is anway to get my hog file to my xp

I installed D2 DOS version fine on my XP.

Insert CD into drive.
Browse to CD Drive
double click the install.exe file.
Install D2.

when i double click on install it creates a dos box but then closes it

goto the RUN box and type CMD, this will open a DOS box for good.

then type

d: where D if your CD ROM drive letter
then type install

this should start D2 DOS install.

then did install but i get this error

Error: Descent II CD not in drive.
Install must run from your Descent II CD.

errrrrr umm thanks alot i put descent in my dvd drive now it works! im installing it now so i cant wait to start making descent 2 maps thx again!

Glad I could help. If you are looking for D2 games, just d/l Kali (www.kali.net) and pay the 1 time life time registration fee and visit us on the Descent server.

Kali has a demo but you are limited to not hosting a game and also I think it's 15 minutes at a time.

Trust me though, it's worth he 20$ or 16$ if you use Paypal. I have 3 accounts and might buy more later just to support it. Kali also supports ANY IPX game and any new game coming out. Doom 3 support was added just last week also. it's great place and actually, Kali was created so people could play Descent 1 online.

Actually, the Kali demo is now a one-time 30-day trial. After that, you'll either have to use another e-mail address to continue the trial or pay the lifetime fee. I second Merlin's endorsement of Kali; it's a great program and well worth the cost.

now im noticing that descent 2 locks up every time i have an intese moment ie being smathered by homing missles while launching a mega it keeps freezeing oh well

Are you using D2x? If so, try using a lower res. Or turn off the AA or AF on your video card.

AA = Anti Aliasing
AF = Ansitropic Filtering

AA reduces jaggies
