9800/D3 problems

Post by Bonz »

I purchased a 9800 pro not to long ago and have been having problems with it or so it seems. I only seem to get 50-60 fps when playing online.
The funny thing is I can run timetest in 7 sec and in a
single player game I can get anywhere from 500-1000fps.
So why am I only getting 50-60 in game?
Could it be because my network card and vid card on the same irq? They're both on 19.
I thought maybe it was the drivers at first but I ruled that out when I ran timetest.

Weird. What refresh rate are you running at the game resolution? 50-60 is usually indicative of V-Sync enabled somewhere, or the lack of "-framecap 0" in the command line.

v-sync is off, my refresh is set at 85hz
and -framecap 0 is set in the command line.

Note that if you use a service such as d3.descent.cx to launch an online game, you'll have to set your command line parameters there as well, since it won't use what you set in the Misc tab of the D3 launcher.
