Controller issue

I am setting up a new system. The Gravis Game Pad Pro checks out in the setup screen. But when I try to set the buttons in the config screen nothing happens. Can anyone help here I need my feet. Oh, and I can't skip the intro:(Help)

SB Audigy2 driver update seems to have fixed both problems.
