You might try lowering the reflectivity value on some of your textures with tablefile overrides. What *could* be happening is that the light is bouncing off the floor, bouncing again off the bottom of the X, then striking the floor where you want the shadow to be thus making it less distinct. In the...

You *will* need more space than you think so buy at least a mini if not the full iPod instead of the shuffle.
Then toss the so-so apple earphones and upgrade to a pair of these.

Frankly I would love to see Moore's work IF he did a movie about himself using the same approach - I would roll out of my seat. Well, there is a new movie about Michael Moore just coming out. It (obviously) wasn't made by Michael Moore but it's style is based on Roger And Me. The trailers are great...

Um Ford, you need to scroll down past the top of the page. The actual evidence is right on the page I linked. The PDF summary is just that, a summary. Here is the supporting evidence since you couldn't be bothered: The film shows CBS and CNN calling Florida for Al Gore. According to the narrator, &q...

I am not arguing that margins of error aren't real concepts and I fully agree that we're talking apples and oranges here. The problem is that Moore, Koppel, and I are all talking about apples any you're the one throwing the oranges into the mix. In particular, this list factually refutes a SPECIFIC ...

Goob: I don't believe the list talks about the margin of error. My statement about it being irrelevant to the point made by the list is totally my own. That item talks about Bush winning under ACTUAL recount scenarios. Maybe Gore could have won in some THEORETICAL recount scenario that took the marg...

I have a version of this I was working on for someone way back before KegD3 was released. It uses an invisible powerup object to cast dynamic light from each flasher in turn so that they act like true lights. I thought it worked pretty well - did you ever see it? If you combined the dynamic lights w...

The idea that the US has banned stem cell research is a myth. There are more shipments of stem cells available from the funding-qualified stem lines than researchers appear to need or want. Further, if that isn't enough for some researchers there is nothing preventing research using private or state...

Yeah, I agree stupid Republicans. This is a perfect illustration of the first half of Jane's Law (the Democrats meanwhile have been busy proving the second half true, but thats beside the point). However, the filibuster rules (which are NOT enshrined in the Constitution - they are an outgrowth of th...

You're welcome. A couple things in response to some of your points though. - I am not attempting to show there is no God. I don't actually believe it is possible to prove or disprove his existance either way. I just want to point out that science is not easilly dismissed even when it leads to conclu...

D3LL beta available.
I finally got the pre-download tool I mentioned in this thread far enough along that I'm comfortable releasing a beta. For those who were interested, sorry for the delay (almost 2 weeks after I'd planned on getting it out), but I went a bit nuts on the dialog used to configure the download sites so ...

The European Court has quietly brushed aside 50 years of international case law in a landmark judgment on press freedom, ruling that Brussels does not have to comply with European human rights codes. In a judgment with profou...

A new D3 tool in development.
This screenshot should be self-explanatory: http://www.otherone.us/descent3/images/d3ll_01.jpg Having been away from the Descent community for so long I hadn't realized that D3 was unable to auto-download levels when launched from tools such as Kquery and Kali. I was rather annoyed once I found this...

I need to get something out of my system.
So I built a level :) It's a small (about half the size of Damage) Anarchy/Hoard level named Forge thats designed for 2 to 4 players. This is my first level that's really small enough for a fast 1 on 1 match. The weapons load may be a *tad* on the heavy side for such a small level though so I'd sugg...

The table file (.gam) is for the whole mission, not for each level in the mission. Your .gam file must be named exactly the same as the .mn3 file otherwise D3 won't load it (i.e. mission.gam, not level1.gam, level2.gam, etc). For an example, look at Vander's Revenge which has two levels and uses Hos...

Some of it has to do with the fact that *all* countries act out of what they see as their own self interest and sometimes, rightly or wrongly, that conflicts with American foreign policy (France). Some of it has to do with having lived under America's protection for so long that you no longer unders...
