weapon idea

couple of weapon ideas: water canon, compressed air or some kind of force field that pushes your opponent way back against a wall. Also, powerful weapons like mega missiles, and earth shakers HELP NEWBIES have a little fun until their skills develop. I think people saying "keep everything pure ...

cool

Is the G4 4400 similar to mine?

Maybe it IS monitor. My main complaint is when the scene is moving rapidly, ie a dog fight, I can't really seem to focus my eyes on the opponent. It seems non crisp, but things look crisp when I dont move much.

Darn, I hate the weight of CRTs

advice

Here's what I do:

only use Mozilla (best browser of 2003)
use AVG antivirus from Grisoft (free and good)
use SpySweeper (PC magazine editor's choice)
use yahoo mail, not outlook or O. Express

I rarely get anything with these methods. Hope that helps you!

Iceman,

That has to make you feel upset and violated. Best of luck and don't overfreak when you see what's up. I'd move on this right away. A nanny being called by the police (w/ evidence)may be the best thing to straighten out a life headed for the toilet.

My sympathies,

Hi all

My experience: I was born with a descent joystick in my hand. It least thats what I think it was. Um, well, moving on. . . Descent is awesome. After only playing D3SP for like one week a year, I finally got curious about MP and found sites like this and .cx through web searches. I will admit that fr...

Keep it up

Zach and Rice?, That is an exciting project. I hope it will make it to the end. Just a note of encouragement: there are MANY people who loved the Descent(s) who have never set foot in a bb like this. Also there are many millions of young people world wide who would like a game like Descent, who have...

After finishing ALL the levels of D3 (for the 3rd time) and killing Dravis, I finally decided to try multi for the first time. . . last month. I suspect a lot of people loooove that game, and will try multi in a bored experimental moment. Seeing sites like this in google searches helps a lot. -Ned P...

HI! I'll look tonight and try to figure out which card I have. I think it's a Creative from maybe 2 yrs ago (Whenever 866 was a good new CPU speed). My joystick is USB, not sound card though. Whats the easiest way to run command line switches? I tried to do framerate, but I am so used to windows, I ...

Yeah, descent three is already a few years old, it shouldn't tax a system like mine much. I have a cable modem and a good sound card I think. Actually tonight it looked pretty good. I think the problem is 90% my reaction time. Any of you all Linux fans? Im trying to learn. I dowloaded Mozilla, and t...

cheating

I dont really think it's cheating. Its just a fun thing, and I usually miss.

I would think cheating to be altering code or flying through walls, things I'd never do.

It's nice to meet you all.

A more sneaky level

Hey, Since I am new, I am doing a little better in fights that are not so wide open. I love the subway level. Has anyone thought of modding it or making a new level with more good sneaky hiding spots? Is programing a level hard? I realize it's a cad thing sort of. I think I made one tiny lame level ...

Hi, I'm near Gaithersburg. What kind of PCs do you all play descent on? Im P3-866 Mhz/320RAM/64MB radeon and am wondering if part (heh heh) of why I suck is lag time. Do you think a faster motherboard architecture or bigger 3d card would help much? I can do ok, but I never feel like everything is co...

Has anyone tried two PCs descent networked with a single crossover cable? That must ROCK.

Hi 2.0

Hi All, That was a nice welcome. A little about me: I loooove descent and worry about it's addictive properties. Today in a meeting I kept hearing afterburner. I am still amazed, how many years later, by the programming skill and creativity of it, and how the PC can track so many player calculations...

Hi Y'all,

I've enjoyed playing you all in the mines. Occasionally I even sneak up and get a kill!

Would like to make friends, and learn more about Descent stuff.

Be good,
Ned :)
