Re: Questions about Descent: Underground?
I certainly don't want 12 massive levels. But that's the thing, we already don't know if the levels would be small or big. If they are small, it would be a bad decision, as it would feel like a rushed-out 'demo' made just to shout the mouths of Single-Player fans. But if they are massive, as you sa...

@Duper That's some pretty sick beat, and excellent remix you found! I love that kind of Electro-House / Dubstep fusion. I Must check more of Dj-jo's stuff! @sigma I do like a lot of MMD videos @YouTube, and this is a very good one. My favorite MMD video (that I consider it superbly done and a piece ...

Re: Questions about Descent: Underground?
A 12 level campaign is not that short, IMO. I would be very happy with that already! :) (Although a larger campaign is also a nice thing to have). Taking secret levels aside, Descent 3 campaign had 15 levels and was everything but short. Of course, level size, design and scripting plays an important...

Question about SSD and SATA 3.0gb
OK, so I just replaced my previous B75 motherboard from Gigabyte (that just died about two months ago) with a H61 motherboard from Biostar. And I have to say, even if it sounds weird, that I got much more problems since the very first day with the Gigabyte one than with the Biostar one. Maybe it was...

Re: What do "we" think about upgrading to Win10?
I can't say it's good, that's for sure, but it's something I have totally accepted since years ago just because whether I like it or not, the lack of privacy is a part of our modern technological society. So unless I want to be stuck using 90's computers (and trust me, I DON'T want to return to that...

(i.e. they are in DVD Video format but the cover says stuff like "HD 1080p Original Bluray HD-DVD")
So what kind of spawn from hell it is? It's a DVD, an HD-DVD or a Bluray??!?!?

Re: What do "we" think about upgrading to Win10?
I totally agree with Sirius. There's much noise made about something that is implemented on most operating systems (and several apps) and is running as I'm typing this, and TBH, on these days of heavy use of Internet, Social Networks and Mobile devices, is it really that much of an issue? Total priv...

Re: What do "we" think about upgrading to Win10?
Well, I've been pretty happy with Windows 10 overall, except for the fact that I'm getting some issues with the new Windows 10 drivers from nVidia with some of my games (i.e. got bad framerates, stuttering and bad response on Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed). I had to use this utility from MS to ...

Re: Help!, I screwed my computer
Well, save up for that SSD. You'll be properly impressed by it's performance. But now you have to clone or reinstall the OS if you get one. Even my 4 year old computer is now purring along, although I bought a Samsung EVO and there is still a performance read issue with old data, not that it's noti...

Re: Help!, I screwed my computer
After taking the computer for maintenance, it resulted that the motherboard was indeed the culprit, although the PSU and HDD were also to blame (the HDD became damaged and the PSU was struggling a bit). So I replaced the three components at once. A shame I didn't had the cash right now to buy the SS...

Re: Help!, I screwed my computer
Oh well, so it may be most likely that the MB decided to die, will check that today. I think my warranty is still valid. However, I'm a bit worried about this: The HDD has traces of an OS that was being installed. Could this bring a problem again with the motherboard even if it's a new one with its ...

Help!, I screwed my computer
While i was doing a windows clean install, by error I formatted the 99mb EFI boot partition. I thought it was not big deal as I was installing the OS from the start anyway. I proceeded with the setup. To my surprise, after the first restart to continue with windows installation, my computer went int...

Re: Descent 1 1/2
There's a possible workaround to make it work, but it requires the .PIG and .256 to be renamed to something else that is not Descent.pig, but then the levels would have to call the renamed .PIG instead of Descent.PIG. However, this has the side-effect that DLE won't read the colors correctly if it's...

Re: Ninja MOD for the win?
The toxicity that affects the 'rest of the community' doesn't comes exactly from clicking on E&C, but from the stuff that spews from it to other forums like the Cafe, this Feedback section, etc. And precisely here you can see that effect in action. I'm not visiting E&C and I've not even made...

But it's not exactly you the guilty one, I think every side participating on the argument has a share of that guilt. I think you already made pretty clear that you totally enjoy E&C (enough to get into an argument to defend that section), so the next step here would be to find a peaceful solutio...

Exactly, and that's a posibility with such big mines on such small asteroids.Isaac wrote:And maybe we've descended so far we've come out the other side of whatever we were descending into and thus we must flip around and descent gain.
Octopi also agrees.
