Maybe, maybe not. One thing that is for certain is that it's not the first time judges have been used to deploy someone's political agenda. Administrations frequently put into place judges that uphold their beliefs - like pro-life for example. So, to be outraged at the Massachusetts ruling requires,...

From what I've heard, Windows Longhorn will bring with it a few things: - Trusted Computing, a.k.a. Palladium, Microsoft's anticipated means of policing hardware and forcing it to conform to its specifications. A lingering question is to what extent Microsoft will take this. Somehow, I feel it's pos...

It almost wouldn't be a bad idea for Mozilla to have a pop-up blocking override. For example, if I actually wanted to have a certain Javascript pop-up window appear, if I could press a button as I entered the site allow it. The other thing I think Mozilla needs, and I mentioned this on their Bugzill...

Gee, here's a thought. Answer DCrazy's question rather than acting like crazed televangelists. 1. Under Preferences -> Navigator -> Tabbed Browsing, you can make it so a middle mouse-click, or ctrl+click or ctrl+enter will open a link in a new tab. Also, ctrl-T makes a new tab. 2. Don't have the aut...

A potential candidate under Lothar's logic: - Gased hundreds of individual heretics for interfering with my politics. - Stuffed the polls so I would win. - Declared war on a neighboring country to take their assets. - Eliminated communist social health, welfare, and education programs. - Unwavering ...

The other thing with North Korea is that, verily, it is the problem of South Korea, Japan, and even China to work out. A rogue state like North Korea doesn't do anyone there any favors. The positive aspect is that southeastern Asia is relatively stable and they should be capable of working out a sol...

Hooray for Mark Muller who still cares! http://www.descentbb.net/ubb/biggrin.gif I think the idea of a community-supported venture is best in the long run, though, but I'm not entirely certain how you would make it work. I'd envision a handful of designated servers maintaining an ongoing server list...

Oh, I would concur (EDIT: with Dedman). I don't know exactly whose party to join (probably the independents since it's a catch-all), but the democrats are an embarrassment, especially Howard Dean. The majority of democrats running today are like Dean, full of this anti-Bush gusto and rhetoric, with ...

It doesn't matter if it's news; it's information all the same. And indeed, I don't think the government should be in the media business or provide subsidies for any television group other than the obvious non-partisan (and boring except when British Parliament is on http://www.descentbb.net/ubb/wink...

You neglect, though, that the cost of the criminals appealing the verdict repeatedly often means it costs more to enforce the death penalty than it does to support them for their entire life. Personally, I think violent criminals who don't get the death penalty should face a life sentence that makes...

My opinion is this. The PXO site has been down for several weeks at this point. Clearly, if they intended to bring it back up, they would have done so a long time ago. Historically, even when PXO has gone down, it was rarely down for more than a couple days. This is why I'd just as well assume it's ...
