If I may suggest - When I first played Episode 1, I had a very similar problem with the game crashing whenever it would autosave. In reality, it was some kind of audio crash. The workaround was to force the game to run in DirectX 8.1 mode, which is an argument you can pass into the game (right-click...

Most probable solution would be the UT2004 or UT3 engine. Lots of tutorials and tons of REALLY nice, professional software for free usage with their engine. I really wouldn't bother with Epic. Even as far as Valve goes, look, creating a great mod is no guarantee that Valve will pick you up. But Ste...

I fail to see the point of Vista. When years of work have made XP into a fairly stable, smooth OS, why in the world would I pay to go backwards five years to another buggy train wreck that does the exact same things, but requires more horsepower to eke out the same performance? 3.1 to 95, that was a...

That's the way that D3's music works, and certainly would fit for the Descent SP style. No, Descent 3 has a running soundtrack. The difference is that it is situational. It switches tracks based on level scripting. But there is always music. Half-Life and Half-Life 2 are musically silent most of th...

Ron Paul deserved a lot more attention than he got. Paul demonstrates a simple truth - the media decides our elections. Paul got no airtime. He was largely ignored in all debates. I think on the PC, piracy really is a problem. Perhaps not to the numbers he claims, but it is considerable to the point where the smart money is on Steam.
