HL2 took me forever because I played it on Hard the first time. Damn Combine; they're like roaches. Halo took me a week of non-stop playing just to beat because I chose to do so on Legendary. I recommend doing the following: trying to never get shot in HL2. Ever . Of course, the Reload Quicksave Gam...

Re:
like the calls that start out with: "this call may be recorded". if you don't want to be recorded, you have the option of either telling them you don't want to be recorded or hanging up. A teacher on the other hand, can either tell the person recording they don't want to be recorded, end ...

Re:
what i'm wondering is: what reason did that kid have to record the teacher's speech? and secretly no less. because last i checked, you are supposed to inform someone that they're being recorded. Says who? No one can (or should) make you do anything you don't want to do. To say otherwise means you'r...

Re:
Yes it can. We try to use non layered textures as we can to increase performance, but add layered textured where it is needed. Currently there are no 'playerclip' and 'nodraw' textures. zomgw00t! Arigatou! Yes you will be allowed to drop weapons for other players to pick up. Even in other multiplay...

Ya. I guess it doesn't help that most of the questions are development-specific... :\\ But that's what counts to me, though. This isn't a suggestion thread, but I have one: if there are missiles in 4-packs, and the player can only fit 2 more of those missiles, then picking up that 4-pack should only...

More questions. 1. Does Core Decision use Halo-like (Direct X) overlapping of textures: a base texture (the standard) and a detail texture that's rendered over it at a far smaller scale? 2. Does Core Decision use Halo-like draw-your-terrain (well, in this case, walls) texture method? 3. Are there 'p...

Groovy; a great answer. The news about there being an outdoors is kickass, too.zbriggs wrote:The engine doesn't restrict your level size but your system resources do. You can't build a level larger than your system resources can handle.
...Two other questions are still here.

A question about textures: While undoubtedly there will be bump-mapping, specular, and modern-day water, 1. do you use Halo-style (Direct X) overlapping of textures: a base texture (the standard) and a detail texture that's rendered over it at a far smaller scale? It was a pain in the fps department...

Re:
In the vast pantheon of Descent 3 levels, only 1% have ever come close. :P Besides, if you are, you're probably overbuilding anyway. True. And while such limits like 3000 faces are tolerable, what I don't find tolerable is a grid or overall size limit. Some people may want to build very large but k...

At the moment all I'm wondering is whether or not there are level development limits. Examples: you cannot have more than 200 separate faces for a designated room (Descent 3); you cannot have more than 3000 faces in a room total (Descent 3); cannot have more than 400 rooms (Descent 3); you cannot go...

A note to D2 level designers: D2X-W32 now supports more than one boss robot per level, where you will have to kill all of them to end the level. Previously, the level was ended if you killed just one of them. I think that's a nice enhancement especially for coop geared missions. Toggle it in the ga...

In 1.4.86 I am seeing broken textures. Doors are not textured as they should be, as are walls. Seems to mainly effect cube walls that have a second texture overlay on it, everything from lights to doors. In some cases the textures are improperly colored, like they were turned into static pixels. Che...
