Re: Geocore Multiplayer Video
"It's an unnecessary game mechanic." It's actually an unplanned game mechanic that became so endearing to the pilots that it got left in and went on to become a unique and much loved aspect of the Pyro. By way of friendly explaination: There is either chording or no chording. No chording m...

Re: Geocore Multiplayer Video
Thorne, I would love to have you test. You can always reach me at geocore.testing@gmail.com.
Messenjah, the sounds and weapon effects are a long way out from being done still but thank you for the feedback, it will be noted.

I was given the hosting by a fan of the project, I don't know what/if the data limit is and I don't want to test it without clearing it first so.... email me at geocore.testing@gmail.com and ill see about getting you a copy. I especially need stick users, but those with Flip or Grendel's adapters fo...

Anyone want to playtest Geocore?
Re: Geocore
In retrospect I simply believe you are right, and your words coincide with the motto I learned long ago from V.I.N.C.E.N.T.
Better safe than sorry.

Re: Geocore
Merlin: I've known you far too long to not take your input seriously, and since I don't believe the game will suffer from the change, I have adjusted the colors on my weapons to all be unique to Geocore.
Re: Geocore
Pandora: I am not a super great artist so I will probably not be using outrageous assets in this title, and by that I mean the requirements should be fairly low. I am aware that a lot of us don't upgrade our machines every year, and I want to support you guys as far back as I can. I am using Unity, ...
Re: Geocore
I'd love to be on Steam, but right now I am just working with Unity 4 which builds for Linux. Anyone interested in testing is welcome, and can sign up by mailing me at geocore.testing@gmail.com.
Re: Geocore
I would love to do something like that but I have to be realistic about the scope of work I can complete. Multiplayer is very doable and in fact is working already and from what I have tested so far it is very fun even without all the weapons and graphical frills. Kickstarter is an option I have on ...

Re: apparently has launched?
I agree with what you say about posting in a competitor's space, and that is exactly why I haven't posted anywhere but here about my personal experiences with the other projects I have worked on. I don't post on the MW forums or their Steam forums. This post was aimed directly at all my friends and ...
Re: Geocore
The storyline? I hope to implement that if I can get the funding to do that much work, but the game title will be multiplayer only for now. I will edit that page accordingly. Thanks for looking!

Re: apparently has launched?
Just a quick note, when those guys got funding they suddenly fell off the Skype map and disconnected their ties with the volunteers who got their project off the ground. No "Thanks for all you have done" official good bye or anything, just a straight up "Hey we got our money, ★■◆● YOU...

My post was intended to give you an outlet to get your answers directly, I see you have ignored the chance to be thankful. I said nothing about what I personally will or will not be doing. Please think before you type. P.S. Reading your posts is like reading the Enquirer. I am not sure where you get...

Re: Miner Wars gets funding
If you want answers or want to give feedback then I suggest taking advantage of our weekly public meetings to get your questions answered directly by Marek and the other team members rather than posting questions here.

Re: 6DOF Game Miner Wars
Is uplink studios (and Psionik) involved in MW? Also interested if Marek is TA Marek? Marek is not TA Marek. Yes, I work for Keen Software House and some of my work is in the game. I created the space station and our art director Slobodan worked with another of our programmers, Michal, to revise it...

My post was not aimed at one person... Neither was mine; I'm pointing at red flags throughout the entire MW project here, not you in particular. But okay, let's keep it impersonal and professional: Psionik, in the interest of the fans here who would like to see MW someday, can you please answer the...

You shouldn't touch a keyboard either, Foil. My post was not aimed at one person, I felt like the pilots were owed an update on our project since i see so much misinformation flying around here. Everything I said is true and people can try as hard as they want to break it apart and act like they hav...

Check out the demo first, and save your 13 bucks till we have multiplayer if you want, assuming it will still be 13$ at that point. I have no clue when they're going to stop that pricing.

Yeah, even I am not sure how the thing with the MMO being a different product than Miner Wars came about, but they did make a big effort to make it up to people by giving MMO accounts to everyone who had bought the pre-alpha up till then, and these guys are actually pretty straightforward, not out t...

Man that is some very commendable activity, and your offer is quite generous but any review would have to be of the Pre-Alpha Test that we have now which is certainly not feature complete, making me think it might be better to have reviews done of our product a little further down the production pip...

We do have a very interested pubilsher and the next demo will be the one that basically determines if we get them (and our funding) or not, so we are all trying hard to make this one sizzle. Oh - just to be clear those videos linked above are not representative of the game overall but simply the inside-the-asteroid part of it that is pretty reminiscent. There is much more to see on the main site and coming very soon there will be a TON of new content as we push for our next major releas...

Understood, however these programmers seem to be hitting their milestones with good accuracy and the stuff I mentioned is in that list, upcoming sooner than my estimate in fact, as I just learned in our meeting today. Granted, we can always hit a snafu that halts forward progress but let's just hope...

Re:
Did they get the 24 test pilots? Yes - they are running the pre-alpha now and taking screenshots, reporting bugs, etc. Missions and actual gameplay shouldn't be too far off, but I can't give any real estimate. At the rate we are adding stuff it might be there in a rudimentary fashion within 4 month...

Miner Wars - 6DOF Returns
Hey, I have been hired by a company (Keen Software House) as the Lead Level Designer and I know some people have mentioned Miner Wars around here but I wanted to make some stuff officially known to you guys because it's really exciting. First of all - I have shelved Geocore for now. Geocore = my pro...

The game was started by High Octane and fell apart due to the engine being sold out from under them and a few other things. I came on to the team to try to help make the title a reality but the entire time I was on it I was not allowed to talk to the programmers or really communicate with any of the...

With regard to the specific problem above, you seem to be trying to return an undefined value. Prior to the public declaration of WalkSpeed, you privately assign a value to m_WalkSpeed, so it is defined. When you declare the "get" line you return a defined value, so the WalkSpeed declarat...
