PC lock down / timer?

Post by Verran »

Hey all,

I'm looking for something to lock down a machine, kind of like a parental thing, during certain times of the day and week.

Anything out there anyone recommends? Free or cheap?

Thanks in advance.

I was looking for something more like this, but cheaper & recommended, etc. It's actually for an adult, so simply locking the computer isn't what I'm looking for.

NT provides logon hours for accounts...Have you tried that? I dunno if it will force a logoff however.

on my dslmodem/router you can set time-of-day limits on traffic comming in, so you can basically disable the router during certain times of day.

Yeah, if you've got a Linksys router (haven't messed with any other brands, so I'm not sure if they have this functionality or not...but they should) you can set a specific time of day that a computer can access the internet. They've had this for some time now.
