I like this quiz a lot better than the Libertarian-propaganda quiz that goes around every so often.
Last time I took it I was 61/80 capitalist-libertarian. This time I was 68/80. I wish there was a list of who all the famous people in the picture are.

Lothar, I just happened to take that libertarian one not 2 hours ago. Awfully see-through, isn't it?

Heh. I don't even agree with the democrats most of the time anyway. I've been pegged as a centrist by the Political Compass before, and that seems more my thing.

I keep getting softer (really I think the test must be interpreting a few key positions of mine as leftish due to the assumptions made when they formed the questions...)

Well, at least they pinned me correctly as a Libertarian, but I had some serious problems with the test questions.
A person cannot be truly spiritual without regularly attending church or temple.[/i]
How am I supposed to answer? I believe in the pauline injuction:
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
I think this is a critical part of Spritual health. So I should strongly agree? But how can I? It's like asking: \"You cannot be truly healthy and smoke\", which is demonstrably not true in the universal sense. There are those few exception that smoke like a chimney until they are in their 90's and get away with it. They are rare and far between, but they do exist. There are OBVIOUSLY individuals who are truly spiritual without regularly attending church. So I should disagree? But then that makes it sound like I think this is a good idea, but if I agree, then it sounds like I don't think these people ever exist. You see my delima here?
Something like the theory of Natural Selection explains why some people are homeless
It all depends on what your definition of the word \"some\" is.
Does \"some people\" mean ALL of the homeless (SOME of the general population), or does it mean SOME of the homeless. I think \"they couldn't cut it\" certainly explains why SOME people (a subset of the homeless) are homeless, it certainly does NOT explain ALL of homlessness.
Professional athletes are paid too much money.
Absolutely yes, I think they are. But I don't think that should be forbidden. I'd like to be paid too much money myself.
People raising children have a responsibility to live up to society's standards.
WHICH of societies standards. Don't hurt others, don't cheat, support yourself? Heck yes they are obligated to teach their kids that, otherwise we should kick them out. But beyond that they should be able to teach their kids whatever they want.
The fact that many people starve to death is unfortunate but unavoidable.
We could easily feed everyone on this planet if people would just cooperate. But it's not human nature to cooperate. So is that unavoidable or not?
Most people are too stupid to know what's best for them.
Yes, beyond a shadow of a doubt, this is true. But the question was probably meant to imply that I therefore think I (or people who think like me) should make decisions for them. Nope. It is NOT illegal to be stupid and to make your own stupid decisions. Especially since I think that most people are too stupid to decide if MY decisions are stupid or not.
Being poor and black is an advantage in getting into college.
There are still colleges that have lower entrance requirements for minority students. That's undeniable fact. But does that add up to an OVERALL advantage considering the many disadvantages a minority student is up against? I seriously doubt it. So is it AN advantage, yes, is it an OVERALL advantage, no. All of which says NOTHING about whether I approve of affirmative action or not.
The life of one American is worth the lives of several foreigners
And this depends entirely upon the situation. If those foreigners attacked my country, then heck yes, make them die for theirs. But as a general rule, NO, all human life, of any race or nationality is equally valuable.
I REALLY didn't like the way the questions were phrased, way to ambiguous
