I hate YouTube!
Why do I hate the most popular video service on the Intarweb?
One reason:
I can't fast forward to an unloaded section of video.
It is so frustrating. Instead of fast forwarding, it pauses the video. And it doesn't just pause, it kills the video. The play/pause button does nothing unless you reset the scroller to somewhere else in the \"red loaded zone\" or refresh the page.
Google video does this right. Soapbox does this right. Why not YouTube?

That is no big issue if your connection is fast enough, my DSL is just fast enough when nothing else is going on to stream a video from youtube right from the start. But if I am even looking at a download, it requires 3-5 minutes to load a 1 minute video on youtube. I hate almost all internet viral videos and video sites because it always takes 5-10 minutes to view a video that I typically find was not worth the wait.
And my ISP dares to call this \"high speed\".

I use http://www.videodl.org/ to download the videos from youtube or google
and then I just use MPlayer to watch them. I can't skip forward or go back as I
can with most video types, which is kind of annoying, but I can speed it up or
slow it down as usual, as this is just an independant feature of mplayer and
isn't made more difficult by any codec.

There's always GBS-TV, which makes for some very, very interesting background noise. Right now we're running a Bill Nye marathon, and there's always all kinds of crazy stuff being played. You can even queue and upload anything, within reasonable bounds. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but you can't argue with MST3k.
