I would love to light up some fireworks but, I have to babysit my dog because he's afraid of the sounds of fireworks explosions(But I'm not afraid of them).

Ah...my favorite secular holiday. Ideally, the wife and I head down to the lakefront for fireworks on the 3rd, then the next day starts with some patriotic music and a pancake breakfast (today with homegrown raspberries!). Take in a parade, then head over to my parents' next door neighbors for their annual bash, including lawn dice, ladder golf, and lots of food, then watching the nearby park's fireworks. Once, on a Saturday, we stayed an extra 3 or 4 hours playing cherades. Good times...
We celebrated by entertaining my 13 month old niece with fireworks. She was startled by the ones with loud bangs, but she seemed so fascinated by it. I think that if she weren't so tired, she'd be very lively over the fireworks. Dad cooked his famous ribs n chickens and all was good and fun.
Happy 4th all. Hope everyone had a safe holiday.
