If they say it ONE MORE TIME, I'LL........!
What is the MOST overused little saying that politicians seem to be fond of adding to their BS pontifications as of late?

\"terrorism\" \"terrorists\" etc.
\"That Senator is a spy.\"
\"All your base are belong to us.\" (I really have heard that before. Guy across from him was like \"What you say?\")

Ding, ding, ding, ding! Duper wins!Duper wrote:"At the end of the day...."
man I'm tired of hearing this.
Everyone came up with a bunch of good alternatives though! Now, thanks to you guys, I'll keep hearing all those OTHER phrases now! Thanks loads!
But I SWEAR, I keep hearing "at the end of the day" mixed or sprinkled into their little speeches far MORE than any other asinine tripe that comes out of their mouths! Anyone agree? Almost makes you want to wring their necks whenever you hear them say it!

Re:
The statement alone does not give any time frame for completion where as "at the end of the day" does...Foil wrote:BTW, what happened to the older similar phrases, like, "when all is said and done"?
Also note the statement subtly implies a workday.
This is just a trite expression with a layman hook on the end of it for the working class

Oh, no, there's a NEW buzz phrase spreading with the most recent health care bill idea. I've heard this 3 times now in the past 2 days.
\"The camel's nose is under the tent\"
or other slight versions thereof. They're using it in reference to creeping incrimentalism and lowering the age for Medicare enrollment.
