Can we arrange a date for some time after xmas? If we can get something decided on early, I'm pretty sure I can make it.
Main thing I have to figure out is a playable set-up. I tried playing today with my laptop sitting on a nightstand and there wasn't any damn room for my keyboard and mouse. It was uncomfortable as hell to play and I could only use about 50% of the mousepad.
If we're definitely going to make this game happen I'll do some brainstorming and find a way to get a decently spaced out setup that won't cramp my arms in 5 mins.

The matches have been played!
Much respect to Behemoth and Zero for showing up and playing really well.
However, it was not enough to break our winning streak as Ryu and I managed to win 3 competitive matches in a row.
Game 1:
Core 100-90
Game 2:
Kata 100-86
Game 3:
Indika 100-96
These games were close enough that I will concede it is possible Ryujin and I could be beaten. But, it didn't happen this time. Our winning streak must be close to 20 by now.
So... for now... BEHOLD!, Our Greatness.

I'm not sure if anyone took demos of the games. I wanted to, but didn't. For some reason recording demos causes D3 on my laptop to have these mini hiccups. Every 4-5 seconds it will stall for a half second. Far too annoying and disruptive for me to record because of that. Ryu saw the issue first hand when I did a test recording before the games.
I've been thinking about using a software like livestream or something like that to record games, with the added bonus being I would have the ability to fast forward, rewind, or jump to any part of the replay. I'll look into it, not sure if it would also slow down my gameplay or anything like that. The files would also be pretty big in that scenario.
That aside....
Any challengers for 2v2? I've checked and Ryu and I are currently 17-0 since he switched to mouse. There's gotta be a pair out there that wants to put a blemish on that sterling record. It's ripe for it

Maybe. But we were both retired in '04.In '04 JF and I could have taken you two. :-p
I was a very good player when I retired at the end of 2002, but I didn't reach true Legendary Status until I came back in '08 and Behemoth motivated me to switch the mouse.
Ever since then the game's been almost too easy

Do I foresee another 2v2 matchup on the horizon?
Behemoth/Fiend?
Fiend/Thorne?
Behemoth/Alien?
Thorne/Alien?
Behemoth/Thorne?
Zero has been banished for being a chump. j/k Zero ;p
Seriously, anyone want to throw down against the best? Perhaps against a weaker team we can put a Handicap. Ryu and I have to reach 100 before the other team reaches 75.
If it's really too much for people then let's split Ryu and I up so at least we can have some fun 2v2 matches. I'd be willing to take a 4th player as my teammate and go up against Ryu/Beh just for the challenge.

Three other matchups with potential....
Grendel/Foil on Kataclysmica
These guys can pop off MD rounds quite well. Could make for some good fights on an MD-centric level like Kata.
Behemoth/Korpze
Korpze is pretty solid, and it would be fun to take on the Descent Brothers.
Behemoth/JesusFreak
If JF ever came back, that best of 5 matchup we talked about could be quite epic. Maybe I'll start harrassing him ;p

Yeah, we need more excellent pilots. Pester them all.
Cool! Not hard to set up either... For those of us who are getting older and may not remember how to do it, I put up this handy dandy guide:

I can see it';s time for me to get a new computer and show you younguns what D3 is all about
Re: Ryu & DT in the Modern Era : Best D3 Tandem of All Time?
no worries kb, they're only decent 2v2 guys, everytime we've done one it's after me and some other pilot comes off hiatus lol
Re: Ryu & DT in the Modern Era : Best D3 Tandem of All Time?
Alright, I've lost count of our win streak... 17, 18?
LEON and IsAB, are you up for a match? DT hasn't played in 4+ months! That's unacceptable.

Bad timing, i'll be on vacation for the next two weeks...
Re: Ryu & DT in the Modern Era : Best D3 Tandem of All Time?
whats up guys, i'd love to get a game soon, maybe someone could team up with me to take on these giants?
Re: Ryu & DT in the Modern Era : Best D3 Tandem of All Time?
4 months off is not much How long have DT played Descent? I would assume his reflexes are part of his nature now.
I hardly see people online anymore. If only Tebo, Smiddy or Chefkoch could start playing again. I think Tebo + Chefkoch would made some of the strongest team from Europe
Behe, you can ask Fiend. Should be a good teammate

D3 is the best when it comes to Co-Ops, although D1 & D2 has gotten me hooked also. It doesn't matter really, all Descent versions rock my world, if it ain't Descent it won't be played, KollBear you had a point that Descent is indeed like a hard drug man rofl!
