Matcen spawning bots with specific behaviours

How does one set robots coming out of a matcen to a specific behaviour?
I'm doing level 20 of The countdown right now and so there are matcens with mine laying gophers, but when they come out they are their default laser firing behaviour.
Currently working on Descent: The Countdown Level 22 (Ogep'rgs) (Geometry)
Descent: The Countdown
Normal levels done 21/27
Secret levels done 2/3
Next level to be done: Level 23 (IO Sulphur Refinery)
The grand collection (Only after Descent: The Countdown)
??? ?/?
??? ?/?
Note
Any levels I make are free to use (even redesign) and include in any mission set. Just pm me if you going to do so.

That effect is hardcoded into Descent 1. Aside from modifying the default behavior of the robot itself, it is impossible to override robots in this way.
Whatever I just said, I hope you understood it correctly. Understood what I meant, I mean.

In Descent 2, it's stored in the robot info within the .HAM as "Default AI" (how D2W calls it, anyway, the internal name is "robot_info.behavior"). It's probably possible to override it per-level with a .HXM, but configuring it individually for each matcen isn't possible.

A .hxm it is then, because it is only gophers that need the change. (Maybe guppies as well but I haven't got to that part of the mine yet.)
