Arabian Nights

Post by woodchip »

So when are people who are paid to entertain, get it through their thick heads that the audience does not want to hear the entertainers political views. I used to listen to Lake Woebegone on NPR until just recently Garrison Keeler pops out with how "Horrified" he was that it was Americas policy to torture foreign prisoners. So I stopped listening. Dixie Chicks got a rude awakening and now the same goes for Linda Ronstadt:

"LOS ANGELES (AFP) - US singer Linda Ronstadt was booed off the stage and kicked out of a Las Vegas casino after praising polemical filmmaker Michael Moore's film "Fahrenheit 9/11," the casino said."

When you are paid to entertain..do your job.

Oh and did you catch the articles spell editor does not workey :P

Edit: Oops, my bad. polemical is a word. I thought they misspelled "political"

Amusing. Besides Ronald or Arnie there are few celebrities that can express a political view and not sound like a complete moron in the process.

Entertainers (e.g., actors, singers) don't have any more credibility than any other average citizen. They should be given as much attention as your crazy neighbor or your DBB colleague.

I'm sure Keillor is shaking in his boots woodchip. And it's Wobegon, not how you spelled it. What's the matter, is it un-American to possess an opinion other than your own?

STFU Zuruck and get a dictionary. A clue might help too. Your trolling abilities never cease to amaze.

Well I've read his books DCrazy. Lake Wobegon Days and Wobegon Boy to be exact. I don't know how a dictionary is going to help me find the titles of some fictionary literature. Graduate high school, then join the discussion.

Zuruck needs to learn BB code so his links don't make me scroll. -Lothar

Alright, I'll return to the corner. Sorry for jumping the gun on that one, even though it does look like Chipper was making a pun.

I stand eating humble pie. Too early in the morn and the caffine had not yet taken affect.

On the other hand what GK does is of no import to me. Suffice to say he has lost a listener.
