Ground Zero buildings

I have to say, these look better than what I had expected. Of course design renders will be made to look ideal, but I like how they look 21st century and they're actually skyscrapers, eclipsing all the buildings around them.

Are these official and/or final? It's good to see that they've moved beyond the ten-story building with a 200-story lightning rod idea.

An alternate view on the subject:

Penn & Teller BS: Ground Zero

Not another show about 9/11 but rather on the politics surrounding the rebuilding.

I can't connect to that site, it may the same thing covered here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Tower

I do like the new design of the tower a lot. It's not as fanciful as the original, fortunately, but it still looks slick and modern. It has a simple but pleasing geometric shape.

The other buildings remind me a little of the Bank of China building in Hong Kong.

The main tower looks quite tall, although in reality it's the same height as the original two. Maybe the fact that there were two \"evened out\" the view, so to speak, so you didn't have just one tall building amidst a sea of smaller ones. But then, as you say, it's a concept render. Heaven knows the Space Needle is nowhere as tall as images depict it!
