I remember reading about this. It has to do with the shadow the object places over the B box.

it's actually legit. ....darn.

I saved the pic and in PS copied the color and drew some lines.. they are the same.

weird.

I guess it's the human mind compensating for the shadow with the knowledge that it's a white block.

That is actually a pretty slick illusion, even though I know they are the same color I still perceive them as different every time.

I accidentally had the same effect with a shadow in my latest painting. Was nifty to reproduce the illusion
