I have seen these "bid on information that I can give you that will enable you to get a free" add here whatever item (computer, stereo, etc).
are these just scammers who take your $10 and run, or ???
they are all over the place...

very curious, and I cant see how this isnt some sort of deceit.

anyone know?

It may not be necessarily deceit on their end, but if it isn't they'll basically tell you to lie saying you're a business or the like.

things like that employ the "buyer beware" concept. If anybody is stupid enough to bid on it then they deserve to be scammed.

They could easily tell you to steal a "insert item here" and they've fufulled the auction. I wouldn't bid on that kinda stuff... :|

my ex got scammed a while back. basically, you paid £20 for a website url, however he'd worded his auction in such a way that the £20 would get you a mobile phone...

what really happend was that you paid this guy £20 for the url, then had to sign up to the website for another £20, then wait several months for more and more people to join the website in order for you to get the phone.

thankfully the seller was understanding... and my charm managed to get her 20 bux back... :)

but yea.. moral? dont bid unless the seller has it physically...

i've seen these too, and what surprised me, is taht people usually get positive feedback, and all they do is sell this info. Well i am pretty sure it's still a scam, but there might be some usefull information in there anyway.

i was once tempted to get this "info" on howto make your own 100inch TV screen or moniter projector outof things around the home.

then i just did a net search, and found out for free :D
(it was a cool project too, it kinda worked with the freznel lense i got)
