From the article wrote:"The faith of the citizens of Illinois has once again been shaken," Jones said.
Stuff like this strengthens my faith that the system is working.

...and (I wont defend this comment), but doesn't he just look like one of those guys that would be caught doing this? It's probably because the media only shows somber pictures of the guys once they are caught. But from what I've seen they sure had some good ones on file!

Just heard about it... I didn't think it was possible! To sell a senate seat??!?!?!

I love some of the quotes about this corrupt ★■◆● I'm hearing on TV. A senate seat is a priceless thing to sell :D

Most states leave the appointment of vacant senate seats up to their Governors.

Isn't it normal to trade political offices for favors? I mean, Hillary's got a cush job now...

And Obama is the Sgt Schultz of this freak show.

How dare someone taint our political system by selling the office directly... You're suppose to buy the office the respectable way. Advertising!

I'm pretty sure Obama knew this man was shady, every democratic governor was given some role at his convention....except his own.

Trivia: The actor who played Sgt. Schultz was a Jew that spent time in a Nazi concentration camp. He only agreed to the role on the condition that he be humiliated in every episode.

Easily in one of my top ten favorite shows of all time.

Welcome to Illinois where you are not to far from corrupt officials from any party.

This state sucks.

I wonder who he ticked off that turned him in and made a big deal about it. sounds like he stepped on the wrong toes.

I heard it was Ron Emanuel who was the tipster. Must have been trying to inoculate Obama from this freak show of a mess.

WFT is wrong in Illinois anyway? The water or something? Although I've heard that Alabama and Georgia have given us their fair share of scumbags too.

Come on TC. Big business deals didn't die with Capone leaving Chicago. Illinois has a rich history of corrupt power and favor trading. I think we would really be surprised to find out how much of this goes on in other states.

This is what I was alluding to. It's like Watergate; the only thing \"wrong\" was that Nixon got caught.

As one of the more vocal opponents of video games who blew hundreds of thousands on failed gaming legislation, I'm delighted to see Blagojevich finally get what he deserves.

Sure, video game legislation sounds like a meager thing until you understand the delicious irony. You see, the same judge that struck down Blagojevich's anti-game laws as unconstitutional is the one who approved the wiretapping.

pwned!

I wonder if this happens often.

I think that Ron Emanuel is more involved with Blagojevich than he's letting on. I'm willing to bet that if Obama wants to come out clean in all of this, he's going to have to dump Emanuel.

Most politicians are alpha males and most politicians are crooked scoundrels. Ron Emanuel is probably an alpha male since he enjoys running Obama's show. Don't alpha males have more testosterone? Isn't that what most females are attracted by, all those pheromones? More testosterone, more pheromones. No insults intended, it just stands to reason boys.

Oh, oh! It's been reported that Rahm Emanuel can be heard on the wiretap tapes talking to Blagojevich about perspective candidates concerning Obama's vacated Senate seat.

True. But Blagojevich got caught at it. Sloppy, sloppy! Arrogance got the better of him. And shame, he told his own mother that he would be an honest politician and never take bribes!

It's standard practice to pay-to-play.

See here: http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/12/17/credit ... index.html

Note the sixth paragraph from the bottom onward.

What's good for the political pigs in Washington isn't worth a rat's behind for the rest of us.

I have an idea. All the lawmakers should be required, by law, to do their own taxes, BY HAND, no calculator or tax software help. They also have to finance all their purchases in their family life with credit cards and be late with a payment at least once. You can bet that maybe a little pain with their finances might make them see the light! OR NOT! :x

Blago just stirred the pot some more. Nice guy.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081231/ap_ ... s_governor

He's either defiant or just wants to cause trouble. On top of that, the right-wing press is now calling the Dems racist for wanting to block this tainted appointment from Blago.

You people clearly never heard of Edwin Edwards, the 4 term Democratic Governor of Louisiana. While he was a huge crook he was extremly funny to sit back and watch.
