Looks great!
We got freezing rain after a good snow around here, and as cool as it looks on the trees and grape vines, boy did it ever make a mess of the cars and sidewalk. We cleared off one of the cars with a hose hooked up to a hot water spigot! Have to use a rectangular spade to bust up the ice on the walk before you even think of using a snow shovel. A lighter person could walk on top of the 4-6 inches of snow (seems to have compressed) without making any marks at all!

Have you been watching the news from Portland? They've been getting freezing rain on top of this snow mess all night, paralyzing everything! Fortunately here in Corvallis, the warm air push has put us above freezing for once in over a week, just rain. It pays to be south of Salem and away from the Columbia Gorge east winds!
actually, it's more than just thie gorge this time. There is an arctic air mass sitting on top of us and you folks are just south of that line.
This is looking more like the ice storm or 78/79 than it is of 04'.
Vulcan is right. This is a rare treat. a bit of a nuisance, but neat all the same. We have about 8 inches of snow with about 1/4\" of ice. .. so it's kinda like walking on creme bruelle.
Folks east of the mountains (Cascade mountains that is) have it far worse than we do. A guy I talked to that lives near Pullman WA (cougar territory )has about 2 feet and deeper in drifts. The snow we got this time was very dry and blew every which way. It also sux for makin snowballs.
