custom resolution and aspect not working?

Post by insaner »

Hi,

i just added the line \"-width 1440 -height 900 -aspect 1.6 -nointro\" as commandlineswitch in the D3-Launcher, but it doesn´t seem to have any effect. I´m playing in Direct3D, also tried OpenGL. Game starts in 640x480. Ingame the picture seems to be cut, there are missing parts on the upper and lower screen margin. Ich can switch resolution to e.g. 1600x1200 in the f2-options, resolution changes, but still cut.

I m running Vista 64, GTX280 latest drivers and Dell-Screen with 2560x1600. Of course I´d like to run that resolution, but even 1440x900 doesn´t show. Any Ideas?

thanks alot 4 helping,
Insaner

Not sure why, but D3 seems to be picky about some resolutions for me as well, when using NVidia drivers. 1440x900 (16:10), 1680x1050 (16:10), and 1400x1050 (4:3) always end up defaulting me back to 640x480.

However, resolutions like 1600x1200 (4:3) or 1920x1200 (16:10) both work just fine. When you first use that resolution, just hit the \"+/=\" key a few times to make it fill the screen.

[Edit: You should also know that when using an aspect ratio wider than 4:3, you're losing some of your up/down view angle.]

great tip, thanks alot, Foil! i have it running fullscreen now 1920x1200. Only problem is now (or still) that the sound scratches on my X-Fi - not too bad but not perfect.
Anyway i try to add AA and AF with NHancer now.

thx again an greetings,
