Unfortunately, I don't find Descent mentioned a lot these days, especially with support for the need of a new addition, but Tom's Hardware recently did a "In Pictures: 20 First-Person Shooters That Need a Makeover" article that features Descent. Take a look here:

I looked at the list. The list seemed to be pretty expansive - I don't know if it's a good thing the descent is in a list the includes a south park game.

On the subject of toms hardware: I guess they're not as popular as they used to be? I still go there to check up on the video card benchmarks when I'm shopping.

I find it interesting that the glossed over the fact that doom 3 and RTCW are the makeovers of doom and wolf3d.

God, why does everything on the web need third party javascript enabled to work, christ.

I wanted to look at that, but if enabling javascript on that site alone doesnt make it work, I'm not gonna bother.

Sorry for going off topic.

Just remember I have heard of Tom Hardware before. But for a different reason. I remembered every now and then they throw a promotion. Last one was giving Vipre Anti Virus for free again.
