Nothing like pseudointellectual fascists on campus trying to censor whatever they don't like.

It wasn't just the activists. Even the faculty and staff at UM were forgetting the 1st Amendment:

This is a very valid subject for discussion. Too bad TB, slick and Woody don’t know how to frame a proper debate.

And if Ferno posts one more of those stupid images, he is going on ignore.

As to the OP, yea…classic case of mob mentality and might makes right, and these kinds of things should be called out every time.

nice whine about me in a thread I hadn't posted in, and moreover whining about others when you, in your exalted state of expertise could just show us slackers how to 'frame a proper debate'. Yeesh!

On topic, I am mostly wondering if some folks even know the meaning of the word fascist. What happened on that campus was very wrong, and runs counter to the concept of American freedoms, but fascist? Hardly. Edit- the working definition of fascism:an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.

It wasn’t a whine and it isn’t relevant if you posted here or not, I didn’t want to call out TB and leave out one of the biggest culprits on the board.

why don't you worry less about who you 'call out' and actually try and post something of substance? Yes, it was a whine.

Enough, guys.

Spidey, when calling out a poorly-framed debate, leave the "list of usual suspects" off; it only serves to derail the thread into "who-did-what-in-other-posts".

Slick, you can report / address / handle it without adding to it.

------------

Back on topic, I wonder if this example can be used as a teaching tool, to show not only the power of nonviolent protest, but to illustrate the extent of the public's lack of understanding of how it works.

Sorry, I just thought I was being fair.

Not to worry, I have the perfect solution.

The current "pop culture" connotation of "fascist" is the one I'm using (as it's thrown around by lefties in the media and entertainment industry) is merely authoritarian tyranny- which was being practiced by (guess who?) leftist "fascists" in this case.
