Circus Circus

Even though I once visited Las Vegas and went to the old Circus Circus, this post is about the DNC convention starting up today. Wonder if it will be as, umm, lively as the 68 convention.

No, they nipped the drama in the bud when Biden withdrew.

Now they just have to keep the anti-Zionist Pig protesters out.

Out of curiosity, If libs think walls don't work, why did they put all the walls up around the convention? And Spidey, the Palestinian protestors are the worst of the bunch.

If Republicans think guns work, why did they disarm people at their convention?

Security (like SS) weren't disarmed. So whats your point?

Oh, so as long as those tasked with security have firearms, you’re fine with disarming everyone else.

Curious.

And to show how up to date the DNC is,"The Democratic Party released its official platform on Sunday night, to be voted on at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois — and it calls for reelecting President Joe Biden, who was still the candidate at the time the document was finalized in mid-July."

You mean like the last one, where he promised to MAGA this country bigly, but instead left us with a half built border wall, a deadly pandemic, a broken supply chain and massive inflation on the rise that was left for the next guy, Biden, to deal with? Oh, and there's also that corrupt SCOTUS he left behind too.

Woodchip is arguing for gun control here! Never thought I'd see the day.

Why Ferno. You misunderstand. Woody wants gun control only for the left.

Step right up, folks. Shoot the pompous clown right in the ass for free.

If you want to name call or make fun of him personally, do it over the the No Holds Barred forum and let loose.

Just let us do it here, TC. There are maybe a dozen people still actively using this forum. Why does it matter either way?

I was just trying to understand where your moral equivalency was going and indeed...i drew a blank. On the one hand. the libs don't like walls, yet put them around what is only important to them. Yet you try to equate that to the RNC not allowing firearms into the convention with the DNC and fences. As much as the DNC is anti-gun, with your logic the DNC should also not allowed any security personal to have any firearms. Or is it alright for "important" Dems to have armed security and the rest of us be at the mercy of armed thugs...like the
pally. terrorist who would love to disrupts the convention.

Yeah, I think our realities are too separate to have even minimally substantive, if antagonistic discussions. Take care of yourself woodchip.

If you aren't familiar with the concept of a straw man you should read up. Open borders are not a policy of the Democratic Party or even liberals in general. Almost no one talks in support open borders, not politicians, and not the general public. The only ones who think open borders are a good idea are economists and left-libertarians (and me because I've read a lot about it).

You really have a crazy view on the people who live in this country and I wonder if you even have friends. I have friends and a diverse group at that. Literally half my friends (and my boss) are Trump supporters, which makes things difficult at times, but I can't give up on them.

I think the straw man is load bearing for him. The exaggerated caricatures cannot be challenged too deeply because they are the permission structure that justifies his support for so much bull★■◆●. You'd think it's a fragile reality ready to come apart any moment, but it's self-reinforcing. It's how you end up supporting a seditious rapist felon and still consider yourself one of the "good guys."
