I've been out for a while recovering from getting gigantic donkey caulk reduction surgery. Took 8-10 weeks recovery only to discover that I have a head of Medusa snakes in my crotch - turned my doctor to stone. First world problems.

Feeling somewhat adventurous.

Playing around with openSUSE Leap for the first time in a long time. The snapshot feature on BTRFS is a nice touch.

I just finished breaking my Arch Based distro because I dare update. Everything is fixed now.

Last weekend I upgraded from my 4 GB Raspberry Pi 4 with a 32 GB MicroSD card to a 16 GB Raspberry Pi 5 with a 1 TB NVMe SSD. Stuff that used to take 30 seconds now takes 2. Much better.

Yeah my desktop is still hundreds of times faster, but it idles at 120 watts where the Raspberry Pi 5 is 12 watts at peak load and can idle as low as half a watt. The Raspberry is perfect for a seed box and handling some background smart home network services.

I gave my rasberry pi to a friend who wants to do who knows what with it. I bought two mini pcs one x86 64 and the other arm64. Both are great. One has a TPU the other a GPU.

There’s always that group trying to cram Windows 11 onto a Raspberry Pi and just when I think it couldn’t get more ridiculous, someone else wants to slap macOS on it too. The Raspberry Pi OS works just fine.

It does, especially since mine is a device that has pretty limited exposure to the internet and I want it to run 24/7/365 with minimal interruptions. My 4 would sometimes run for a year solid between reboots.

I get the idea of setting it up as a server or something and just letting it run in the background. But what I really don't understand is why anyone would try to daily drive Windows 11 on a Raspberry. The performance has to be painfully underwhelming.
