Feeling exhausted when gaming lately ?

May be a warning sign..
S. Korean man dies after 50 hours playing computer games
(AP)
Updated: 2005-08-10 13:43

A 28-year-old South Korean man died of exhaustion in an Internet cafe after playing computer games non-stop for 49 hours, South Korean police said Wednesday.

Lee, a resident in the southern city of Taegu who was identified only by his last name, collapsed Friday after having eaten minimally and not sleeping, refusing to leave his keyboard while he played the battle simulation game Starcraft.

Lee was quickly rushed to a hospital but died after a few hours, due to what doctors are presuming was a heart attack, police said.

Lee had been fired from his job last month because he kept missing work to play computer games, police said.

Computer games are enormously popular in South Korea, home to professional gamers who earn big money through sponsorships and television stations devoted to broadcasting matches.

If you've got some guy sitting in your cafe for 48 hours with no sleep and hardly eating, at what point do you just pull the plug? The guy was clearly a Starcraft junky.

I think amphetamines play a role in a lot of these cases. Or maybe we just hear about the occasional peeps who happen to have a weak constitution. Or both.

Around 1998 I played an online MP game called 'Silent Death'. A 2D space fighter very similar to Asteroids but with a variety of hulls and weps that could be upgraded with kills...kills=credits...credits=upgrades of your choosing...in the end I made it up to Lt. or something like that.
At any rate, I remember when I first got it installed I was so excited that I played it from Friday afternoon(after work, 6pmish), till Monday morning (right b4 work, 6amish)with only piss breaks and drink refills.
Exhausted and still fraught from adrenelin rushes, I pulled into work(on time)only to promptly fall asleep behind the wheel...to which I awoke around noon to find my co-workers peering in on me seeing if I was alright. Fun!Fun!Fun!
