Linux D3 and strange video modes

Post by Xamindar »

Well, Descent3 in linux runs at strange video modes. Every time I run the game I have to readjust my screen to the video mode that D3 is using. And what's worse is that my monitor is not able to save these strange modes in its memory. So I have to readjust it EVERY time.

Do you know what I mean? Anyone out there running D3 Linux and experiencing this?

I am thinking that I might have a range for horizontal sync or what not set in my xorg.conf that is slightly off from what my monitor wants. But it is just strange that X runs and displays just fine along with my other 3d games.....just D3 has these strange modes that don't look right.

Any ideas guys?

I'm blank on this. What modes are we talking about? Resolution?
