Fun "personal lag" test..

Post by Grendel »

..for mousers:

http://www.draebenstedt.de/reaction/reaction.html
This is a toy program to test your reaction speed or, more precicely, your eye-to-hand delay time under 'realistic' conditions. You could call this delay time your 'personal ping' from eye to hand as it is also expressed in milliseconds (ms).

That's pretty cool. I sit between 175 and 200ms, 4.5 to 5 degrees off.

No wonder I can't shoot you bastards.

205 - 3.4 the worst I could get was 400ms and 7 degrees - gave an error if it just sat there or didn't follow I think 408 is the max I got a 408/24

165 @ 4.6 on 2nd try.

I needed to use the 'windowed' version because my Voodoo3 wouldn't do full screen. :D

(Sorry about the slight bump... I didn't get a chance to try this until now.)

After about 6 or 7 tries, I'm averaging about 245ms, 5 degrees off. :roll:

How in the world do I ever kill any of you? :lol:

212 ms, 4.3 degrees. I'm not really surprised, seeing as how I hate using the mouse for pretty much any game outside of an RTS. As a side note, that thing made me dizzier than a fast-paced game of Descent ever could. :P

Yep. (Of course, you knew that already. :wink:)

Makes me wonder how a version for joystick would work.

212, 4.6 off.

Not highly accurate but I don't need to be.

I'd like to try this, but can't find where to invert the mouse.

Edit :

Never mind I found it, first try 246 ms, 3.7 degrees

Edit 2:

Doesn't seem to matter how much I play. I always get about the same score as my first time

Same here. Just shows you how accurate a good sample and statistical measurements ("network analysis" = excitation/response) can be.

x2

Sample size = 10
Avg = 189.3 / 4.11
σ = 6.04 / 0.26

Seems to me that, although reaction time is important, what good is it if you miss? ;)

I'd also be interested in a tool like this for joysticks.
