Pick Your Preferred Holiday Greeting

Post by Repo Man »

In these hyper-sensitive, politically-correct times we find ourselves living in, it would be fitting to gauge the sentiments of the denizens of the Descent BB regarding their preferred holiday greeting.

If your response is "Other," then please state your preference.

"Other" is fine. it doesn't wish to force me to have a happy anything, while it may not make sense as a greeting. perhaps, 'Hello', would be a little better.

I am not religious (as you well know) but Christmas is the time of "Goodwill to all men" - and that includers WOmen too. :) My take on it is this - because I just had it come up at work. I had to send out a bulk "Happy Holidays" email to our clients - and the fusking thing has a big Santa Claus on it!!

So, I'm like WTF IS THIS SHIAT????

It's fuxoring CHRISTMAS for gawds sake!

Now, I can't imagine, that ANYONE would EVER be offended being wished a MERRY CHRISTMAS, but the people who are religious could be highly offended by a "Happy Holidays".

I mean COME ON. HOW can wishing someone a MERRY CHRISTMAS be offensive? Even if they are a devout Muslim, or Jewish, or whateverish, it's AN EXPRESSION OF CARE AND LOVE AND GOODWILL. Hell, if someone wished me a Happy Hannukah, I wouldn't be at all offended because it's someone wishing me good things.

Jebus H Chribt was born of Christmas Day - or so they say - and while the secular world may have forgotten that fact, it is still CHRISTMAS. Holy Moly I hate political correctness it ALL its forms.

Given the lack of the "It doesn't matter which one" option, I went for the alcohol option instead. :)

Seriously, it doesn't matter to me at all. They pretty much mean the same thing anyways.
